Unlocking Regional Potential: North East Technician Collaboration Event, 25 June 2025
Through their practice Technicians are at the forefront of innovation and on 25th June 2025, the five universities that make up Universities for North East England (UNEE) brought their technical leaders together for a landmark collaborative event at Newcastle University.
This first-of-its-kind initiative united Durham University, Newcastle University, Northumbria University, University of Sunderland, and Teesside University to strengthen collaboration, share expertise, and map out a more connected, resource-efficient future for our technical communities.
The successful event explored the breadth and depth of technical platforms across our institutions. It also sparked collaboration through themed breakout sessions, from STEM and Biomed to Arts and Education and launched conversations on shared infrastructure, skills development, and regional networks (including a proposal for a North East Imaging Network).
